Weekly update

Attendance - Attendance and participation in remote learning are required by the State. We will be taking attendance during our Morning Meetings. We also understand that learning remotely may vary for individual families, due to family work schedules. If your child is not able to attend our morning meeting, but will still be working and learning at home/daycare on that day, we will post a quick assignment on Seesaw the night before for your child to complete. Your child’s response to the assignment will need to be uploaded onto Seesaw by 10:30 a.m. in order to be marked present for the school day.

Grading - Once your child’s work is posted on Seesaw, we will not only provide feedback, but may even ask for clarification on the work. Due to this, your child’s response to our feedback on Seesaw is imperative. Grades will be on a scale from 0-4. More information on our grading policy will be provided in the near future.

Student Work - We will be using Seesaw to house student work and give feedback. Each Monday morning we will post new weekly assignments on the class website/Seesaw. Your child will have all week to complete these assignments. All assignments will need to be uploaded onto Seesaw by Sunday night at 11:59 PM.

When submitting assignments on Seesaw:

  • Post a clear picture of the assignment. Ensure the lighting is good and that you can read the writing/see details in the photo.

  • Have your child include their name, the date, and the title of the assignment

  • Have your child read over the comments from your teacher(s) and comment back to answer questions. This reflection and feedback piece is essential to the experiential learning cycle and our mission at TESG.

Instructional Day – Our instructional day will begin everyday at 9:30 with a Zoom Morning Meeting. It will be very important for your child to attend this meeting so we can not only take attendance for the day, but so that we can develop our class community and set the mood, routine and goals for the day. If your child is not able to attend Morning Meeting, please make sure your child has entered her/his/their Morning Meeting response by 10:30 each morning, so we can take attendance. Please help your child start his/her/their day in the very best way possible.
