A graduate of the University of the Philippines educational system since high school, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Statistics, minor in Management, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. She later completed her Master’s degree in Development Economics at the UP School of Economics in Diliman and finished the Program in Development Economics with Honors in the same institution. A proud Iskolar ng Bayan, she has devoted her career to strengthening public institutions and expanding opportunities for Filipino learners and workers.
She began her professional journey as researcher at the College of Engineering of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, where she served from 1988 to 1991. In 1992, she joined the National Manpower and Youth Council (NMYC) Region IV, which later became TESDA through the enactment of Republic Act No. 7796, otherwise known as the Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994. Since then, she has steadily risen through the ranks, taking on increasingly strategic and leadership-driven roles.
Her career highlights include her service as District Director of TESDA Manila, TESDA PASMAK (Pasay-Makati), Assistant Executive Director of the Planning Office and Executive Director of the Regional Operations Management Office (ROMO) at the TESDA Central Office. She also previously served as the Regional Director of TESDA MIMAROPA, where she provided strategic directions to TVET development in a growing island region. At present, she serves as the Regional Director of TESDA NCR, leading initiatives that strengthen industry partnerships, promote higher qualifications and innovations, and expand access to skills development to further strengthen TVET systems in the National Capital Region.
