NMSF, DOST  STARBOOKS PROJECT MOA SIGNING

The Northern Mindanao School of Fisheries (NMSF) located in Barangay Matabao, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte has forged a partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Caraga through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement for Starbooks by TESDA Caraga Regional Director Tarhata S. Mapandi, CESO III and DOST Caraga Regional Director Noel A. Ajoc together with the NMSF OIC-Vocational School Administrator Nancy C. De Guzman on December 5, 2022 at the DOST Caraga, Ampayon, Butuan City.

Through this partnership, the NMSF will receive the first Science and Technology Digital Library in the country - Starbooks or a “Library in a Box” developed by the DOST.

The Starbooks is a user-friendly interface containing hundreds and thousands of digitized resources in various format (text and audio/ video). It is expected to create interest in the field of science and technology and encourage curious minds to develop new ideas, inventions and innovations. Through this wide variety of digitized resources, the NMSF learners will be provided wider access and opportunities to elevate their literacy in science and technology.

For the effective and efficient implementation of this program, the NMSF trainers and learners will have to undergo an orientation on its operation and utilization.
