The RAC SERVICING (DomRAC) NC II Qualification consists of competencies that a person must achieve to enable him/her to install, service, maintain, troubleshoot and repair domestic air-conditioning and refrigeration units.
This Qualification is packaged from the competency map of HVAC/R Sector – RAC Servicing as shown in Annex A. The Units of Competency comprising this Qualification include the following:
BASIC COMPETENCIES

COMMON COMPETENCIES
Prepare materials and tools
Interpret technical drawings
Observe procedures, specifications and manuals of instructions
Perform mensurations and calculations

Maintain tools and equipment
Perform housekeeping and safety practices
Document work accomplished
CORE COMPETENCIES
Install domestic refrigeration and air-conditioning (DomRAC) units
Service and maintain domestic refrigeration and airconditioning (DomRAC) units
Troubleshoot and repair domestic refrigeration and airconditioning (DomRAC) systems
A person who has achieved this Qualification is competent to be:
Domestic Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Technician
Training Regulation for Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning (RAC) Servicing NC II.
