TESDA Batanes conducted a Tech-Voc Forum/Calibration Session with TVIs on the re-issuance of CTPR with validity period of five (5) years, and updates on assessment and certification system. The Forum/Calibration Session was held on the 11th day of January 2024. Present during the activity were Provincial Training Center (PTC) key personnel, Mrs. Marlyn H. Hidalgo of Saint Dominic College (SDC), Mrs. Glyza Mae V. Baldomar from Department of Agriculture – Batanes Experiment Station, and Ms. Daryl Alva Batin and Christine B. Addatu of Batanes State College (BSC). The OIC Provincial Director Mr. Samuel C. Falcis facilitated the calibration session.
The first agenda discussed was on the provisions of omnibus guidelines on program registration under UTPRAS and the related memorandum and work instruction issuances from central office. Everyone was given the opportunity to share and make commitments on behalf of their school to re-register the program at agreed deadline not later than March 31, 2024.
Mr. Domingo H. Dita Jr. facilitated the discussion on assessment and certification. He emphasized the importance and benefits of full implementation of electronic issuance of National Certificate. He also presented the newly-promulgated Competency Assessment Tools and assessment fee for possible offering by the TVIs.
The last topic discussed during the session was the Scholarship program for CY 2024. Mr. Falcis encouraged participants to register more programs to enhance their school's absorptive capacity, noting that there is a substantial budget available for TESDA's various scholarship programs this year that can be allocated to TVIs.
