Basco, Batanes – The TESDA Provincial Office and the TESDA Provincial Training Center (PTC) Batanes actively participated in a coastal cleanup activity on May 9, 2025 in Basco, Batanes. The initiative was spearheaded by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Batanes as part of the nationwide celebration of Farmers and Fisherfolk Month.
TESDA personnel and trainees joined other government agencies, community volunteers, and stakeholders in the environmental drive aimed at promoting sustainable fisheries and cleaner coastal communities.
TESDA Provincial Director John D. Simborios expressed the agency’s commitment to supporting inter-agency activities that advocate for environmental protection and community development. “TESDA Batanes is one with BFAR and the local community in ensuring that our coastal areas remain clean and vibrant, as these are essential to the livelihood of our farmers and fisherfolk,” he said.
The coastal cleanup activity not only highlighted the importance of protecting Batanes’ marine resources but also underscored the shared responsibility of government agencies and the community in safeguarding the environment.
Through its participation, TESDA Batanes reaffirmed its mission of contributing to inclusive growth, not only by developing a skilled workforce but also by taking part in initiatives that promote sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
