Grace Marshall is a sophomore English Language & Literature major with a concentration on Language, Writing & Rhetoric and a Professional Writing minor. Along with a member of College Park Arts Scholars, Grace is a yoga instructor for UMD Recreation & Wellness, the Editor-In-Chief (EIC) of The Paper Shell Review, a writing tutor for the UMD Writing Center, and the English department student representative for ARHU Dean Stephanie Shonekan's Student Advisory Board. She loves to spend time with her two golden retrievers, read, and craft.
Grace hopes to continue adding pages to this living, digital magazine even after her 2025 ArtsFest exhibition. She believes that meditation is an invaluable tool for staying well during college and afterwards, and does so every morning. She hopes to get a tattoo of her meditation mantra, “this is what matters,” as a reminder to keep perspective and search for life’s most meaningful and human moments.
Getting to share her love for meditation through this magazine and her on-campus yoga classes every week has been a dream come true. Attending a yoga class tis o take care of your mind, body, and soul, find presence, and slow the nervous system. No matter what season of life you are in, this practice is crucial.
