Our shared values as a team are honesty, accountability, respect, and patience. Each of us made sure to embody our values by contributing, encouraging, and assisting each other throughout the whole project.
Our primary audience is students because we realized that screen time occupies a large portion of many students' daily lives, especially considering how many classes have transitioned online. However, we recognize that the problem of screen time extends well beyond school and so our secondary audience includes those who may not be students but still use screens frequently.
This app aims to reduce screen time, especially with all the online classes, meetings, and forms of communication. Students have felt it especially difficult to minimize their time on a screen, whether that be their computer, phone, or television. Hopefully, this will help students use their time better and free up time for them to experience more joy in their lives. An app to help reduce screen time can help students develop the self-discipline they need to cut back on screen time, occupy other daily activities, and form a more robust lifestyle.
