Planning and Habits
Used a clickup gnatt chart to organize all of our tasks throughout the semester. This was super useful as we could use clickup to assign tasks to specific people and we could see what needed to get done before we did the next thing.
Our team habits looked to have clear and effective communication within the team. Before every class period, we would decide what needed to be done that specific day and decided who would be working on each specific task. To gain clarity as a team, we reviewed each week and planned for the next week through Zoom meetings each weekend to catch the team up with any updates or issues.
Our design habits focused on 2 key principles, attention to detail in the initial design and then lots of testing and iteration in the building phase. For the attention to detail we attempted to make an extremely detailed CAD model of our OTV that outlined how everything would be attached. For the building phase, we attempted to get an initial prototype built as fast as possible so that we could spend weeks testing our navigation code and mission systems. This proved very useful as we had time to make design changes to our OTV, such as switching from 1 middle arm to 2 side arms, adding tin foil over the fans and moving the ultrasonic sensor down so that it could see the traversable obstacle.
