Program Eligibility Overview:
The California Youth Climate Policy (CYCP) Leadership Program is open to students entering 9th through 12th grade in the 2026–27 school year who are ready to grow as leaders, build community, and take meaningful action on climate issues in their schools and beyond.
You do not need prior experience in leadership, policy, or environmental work to apply. What matters most is your curiosity, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to making a difference.
CYCP is grounded in equity-driven values, and we strongly encourage applications from youth whose identities and perspectives have been historically underrepresented in environmental and climate spaces.
Program Commitment & Key Dates:
CYCP is a 7-month, cohort-based program that combines skill-building, mentorship, and real-world application. Students are expected to attend all major program events and actively participate throughout the experience. All events are held virtually on Zoom.
