Teaching Philosophy

My philosophy as an educator is to ensure students understand the "whys" of what they are learning, and do not simply memorize. To that end, I incorporate multiple approaches in my classes to keep material engaging , such as watching media, reading popular science books (in lieu of an assigned textbook), and in-class group activities. My goal for each class is for students to ask questions, seek as much help as needed, and hopefully leave the course having appreciated and understood why each "fact" we learned occurs the way it does.
