Project Advancing Specialized Professionals Who Integrate Research Evidence (ASPIRE)
Temple University
Project Advancing Specialized Professionals Who Integrate Research Evidence (ASPIRE) is a collaborative partnership between Temple University (TU) and the University of Virginia (UVA). The purpose of the project is to prepare 9 new doctoral scholars with expertise in (a) conducting and synthesizing high-quality research to identify evidence-based practices (EBPs), (b) effectively and openly disseminating EBPs, and (c) supporting effective implementation and adaptation of EBPs with fidelity. In addition to reducing documented national and regional special education personnel shortages, Project ASPIRE’s clear focus on EBPs will provide project scholars the knowledge and skills to prepare future special educators who have high expectations and provide effective interventions for children with disabilities, including high-need children with disabilities, which ultimately translates into improved learner outcomes.
