Talksheets

How Talksheets Work

Talksheets are materials meant to spark conversations with tweens. Designed mainly for use in groups, they can be adapted for 1-on-1 sessions too. If you can afford a little prep time, these can be invaluable tools for drawing out what your tween is thinking!

Each talksheet has 2 pages:

  1. The first page is for your tween. Print this out, or have a PDF editor (if you want to save on paper).
  2. The second page is the Leader's Guide for you. Read this ahead of time, but don't read off it--this is a guide, not a script!

(Note: Talksheets are listed newest on top, oldest at the bottom.)

Demonstrated Faith

It's easy to say we belong to Jesus, but if our faith in Him is real, then it will make a real difference in how we live--and that's going to be visible people around us. This talksheet draws from Matthew 8:5-10 to ask, What does faith look like in your life?

24. Nicknames.pdf

Nicknames

Do you have a nickname? Are you proud of it, or is it kind of embarrassing? In this talksheet, we look the books of Mark, John, and Revelation to see what Jesus gave his close friends nicknames based on the stories of their lives (Mk 3:13-19; Jn 13:23; Rev 2:17)

22. But Everybody Else Is Doing It!.pdf

But Everybody Else Is Doing It!

Peer pressure is real, and maybe even unavoidable (at any age!). But we can choose to follow God no matter what people around us are doing, and that's the topic of this talksheet, which draws this important life lesson from Micah 4:5.

18. Real or Counterfeit.pdf

Real or Counterfeit?

In an age of fake news, it's more important than ever to know how to tell when something--or someone--is the real deal. This talksheet draws from John 8:31-32 to discuss whether a person is a real disciple of Jesus Christ, and invites us to be honest about how we measure up.

15. I Know You.pdf

I Know You

Building on the previous talksheet, we explore what it means to be fully known by God--warts and all. God sees us for who we really are, and is far more interested in that: who we are, rather than what we do.

Call Me

God knows us completely, but how well do we know Him? This talksheet draws from Jeremiah 33:3 to look at what it means to communicate with our God.
