The WYDOT iPD eFieldBook ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and manage information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
This App is designed for use by authorized personnel of the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) and its contractors for documenting construction project activities and synchronizing project-related data.
The App is a professional tool used to document construction project data. We collect project-related information entered by authorized users, including:
• Pay items and quantities of work performed
• Labor and equipment logs for contractors and subcontractors
• Daily time charges and weather conditions
• Project inspection diaries and instructions
• Photos, videos, and related project documentation
This information is necessary to support construction project tracking and reporting.
To provide its core functionality, the App requires access to certain device features. These permissions are used only for operational purposes related to project documentation.
Camera
Used to capture photos and videos to document project progress and inspections.
Storage (Photos / Media / Files)
Used to save captured media and documentation locally on the device and upload it to the central Construction Management System (CMS).
Location (GPS)
Used to record the geographic location of project activities and inspections when required.
Microphone
Used only when recording video or voice documentation as part of project reporting.
Biometrics (Fingerprint or Face Recognition)
Used solely for secure authentication to access the App. Biometric authentication is handled by the device operating system. We do not collect, store, or transmit biometric data.
Internet and Network State
Used to synchronize project data between the device and the central CMS.
Permissions are requested only when required for specific features and are not used for background tracking or unrelated purposes.
Professional Project Data Only
The App collects project-related documentation data necessary for authorized work activities.
No Personal Data for Marketing
We do not collect personal information such as personal contacts, personal email accounts, or phone numbers for advertising or marketing purposes.
Secure Data Synchronization
Project data entered into the App is transmitted securely to the central Construction Management System (CMS) managed by WYDOT.
No Third-Party Selling or Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade user data to third parties.
Data is used solely for project documentation, reporting, and operational purposes.
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data processed within the App.
Security measures include:
• Encryption of data during transmission between the App and the central CMS
• Local storage control so media files remain on the device until intentionally synchronized or deleted
• Access control restricting the App to authorized users through secure login credentials and optional biometric authentication
Project-related data and media files remain on the device until synchronized with the central CMS or deleted by authorized users.
Data stored in the central CMS is retained according to WYDOT project documentation and operational policies.
This App complies with the Google Play Developer Program Policies, including those related to user data, permissions usage, and data security.
We request only the permissions necessary to support the App’s core functionality.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in functionality, legal requirements, or operational practices.
Any updates will be posted within the App or on the associated website. The Effective Date at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates the latest revision.
