What is a ‘Community of Learning’ or Kaahui Ako?

Te Kaahui Ako o te Puuaha o Waikato aims to improve outcomes for all our learners. It is part of a wider government initiative designed to encourage greater collaboration and sharing of knowledge between Early Childhood Centres,  Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Tertiary providers within a geographic area.  Schools have traditionally operated very much as ‘separate islands’, which can limit our ability to share resources and collaboratively solve problems.  By working as a Kaahui Ako (Community of Learning), we can share our challenges, resources expertise and solutions for the benefit of all our learners.

The best practice across our ECEs and schools is being highlighted, shared, grown and adopted for the betterment of all tamariki.
