Freeway does not collect your personal data.
What the app uses, and where it stays
* Location. Your device location is read continuously while protection is on, including in the background, and is used for one purpose: to calculate how fast you are moving so the app can tell driving from walking. Location is processed entirely on your device, is never written to storage, is never transmitted, and is discarded as soon as the speed is read.
* Physical activity. If granted, Android tells the app when you enter or leave a vehicle. This is used only to confirm a journey faster. It stays on the device.
* Which app is in the foreground. The accessibility service is told the package name of the app you have just opened, so it can decide whether to block it. It is not recorded and is not transmitted. The service does not read the contents of your screen. The only time it inspects screen content at all is while a guardian PIN is set and a system Settings or installer page is open, purely to check whether that page is Freeway's own.
* Trip history. Start and end times, peak speed and a count of blocked app launches are stored in the app's private storage on your device so you can see the trip list. You can clear it at any time. It is never uploaded.
* Installed apps. The allowlist screen lists apps that have a launcher icon so you can choose which stay usable while driving. Your choices stay on the device.
What the app does not do
There is no account and no sign-in. No analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting service is included, and we operate no servers of our own.
The app does hold the internet permission, because Google Play's billing library requires it to check your subscription. That connection is between your device and Google, and carries no location, no trip data and nothing about how you use your phone. Nothing you do in the app is visible to us, because nothing is sent to us.
Payments
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Google Play. The app asks Google Play whether this device has an active subscription and stores only the time of the last confirmation, so it keeps working while offline. We never see your name, email or payment details.
Children
Freeway is intended for licensed drivers and is not directed at children.
Your control
Every permission can be revoked in Android Settings, and uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your device. Because nothing is collected, there is nothing for us to delete or export on request.
