With support from the Nordson Corporation Foundation, TECH CORPS will implement its Techie Camp program in partnership with the DeKalb County Public Library for elementary and middle school students during the summer.
Techie Camp is a full-day, week-long program designed to engage elementary (ES) and middle school (MS) students in hands-on, interactive STEM-related activities. Students take a deep dive into subject matter focused on Robotics, Programming, Android App Development, or Digital Animation and emerge with skills that are useful in today’s classroom and tomorrow's workplace. The Techie Camp experience will conclude with students presenting their final project to their parents and peers on Friday afternoons. Below are additional notes about the Techie Camps:

There will be one lucky winner per camp—don’t miss out!
Below is an overview of each Techie Camp topic:
ES Programming (Scratch)
Students will use Scratch, developed by the MIT Media Lab, to learn the concepts of computer programming by using a simple graphical user interface. Students will create their own interactive art, interactive stories and games. The camp will encourage students to think about complex ideas or complex concepts rationally and logically.
MS Programming (Make Code Arcade)
Old school gets a fresh makeover! Students bring a new twist to iconic games like Pong, PacMan, and MarioKart. With MakeCode
Arcade, they dive into basic game design concepts to craft games they can download on handheld consoles.
MS App Development
App Development allows students to go beyond the app store from consumer to inventor. With the power of innovation in the palm of their hands, Students bridge the physical world to the digital world. Students harness app development tools to build meaningful apps you may one day download on your phone.
