Lhuentse is located in the northeastern part of the country. It is the ancestral home of our Kings and hosts numerous sacred sites, making it a favorite destination for tourists. Most of Lhuentse district is part of the environmentally protected areas of Bhutan. The district contains parts of the Wangchuck Centennial Park in the north, Phrumshengla National Park in the south and the Boomdeling Wildlife Sanctuary in the east.
