All middle school student-athletes must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 to remain eligible for participation. Eligibility may be determined using either a semester GPA or a cumulative GPA. If a student-athlete’s grades for the current marking period fall below the minimum 2.0 requirement, the academic advisor or coach will notify the student’s parents or guardians and develop an appropriate tutoring plan on a case-by-case basis. During this time, the student-athlete will be withheld from athletic competition but will remain a member of the team. While on academic restriction, some or all of the student-athlete’s practice time may be dedicated to tutoring and academic support to help the student improve performance and meet the minimum GPA requirement for reinstatement.
Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson Middle Schools will be using FormReleaf in order to register for athletic participation. Please make sure all information is accurate and is completely filled out by a parent/guardian. Please see the link below and register for sports today!
Student/athletes must register for EACH sport they plan on playing during the 2025-2026 school year
FormReleaf Athletic Registration
Make sure you have a current physical (within 1 year of the start of your season) or you can upload a new physical onto your FormReleaf registration. Our school doctor will also be here for physicals every Thursday or Friday morning. You need to make an appointment in the nurse's office for a physical. You must be registered on FormReLeaf to get a physical with our doctor.
This is the physical form that needs to be filled out by the doctor's office if you get your own physical. Please make sure that you have the correct form, especially if your doctor is located outside of NJ. Please don't wait until your season is about to start. Get cleared now so you are ready to go on the first day of tryouts. Registration is now open for all sports in the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
