7th Grade Computer Applications is a one semester encore course that teaches G Suite applications of Doc (word processing), Sheets (spreadsheets), Slides (presentations), Sites (website design), and Drive (cloud based storage). In addition to the G Suite applications, students will enhance their Keyboarding skills using web based applications to learn proper keyboarding strategies and increase their speed. Programming will be introduced using Code.Org’s Computer Science Fundamentals Express course. This self-paced unit gives students the opportunity to learn the basics of computer programming with block coding.
Multimedia Production is an 8th grade semester long encore class. Students will explore the fundamentals of Graphic Design by learning skills for online design applications to create, remix and analyze digital art. Students will gain a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and develop their skills in editing and altering photographs. Students will explore web-based video editing platforms such as WeVideo and other applications to create video and audio projects.
