Episode 7: Harkness in Action

11th Grade US History teacher, Mike Siciliano, shares about his journey learning the Harkness method and implementing it into his classroom. He had the opportunity, along with a few other teachers from our school, to visit Phillips Exeter Academy where Harkness was born. Mike is honest about the highlights and the challenges of using Harkness in the classroom and gives some encouragement for those who might be thinking of trying it out.

12th grade Literature teacher, Adrienne Nicodemus, shares about her use of Flipgrid in the classroom. Hear how this simple, yet amazing tool gives her a view of her students she might not see otherwise. Adrienne values student voice and Flipgrid helps her amplify it.

Mr. Adare explains what the Harkness Method is and shares about the impact it has on student learning. 5th Grade Teacher, Jackie Lewis, took two groups of 5th graders through an activity adapted from the World Peace Game by John Hunter.
