Treat your Chromebook with care!

Read the Agreement form you signed carefully so you are aware of the limitations of accidental and deliberate damage. See the bottom of this page for troubleshooting tips.

Please be extra careful when carrying your device or putting it in to a backpack. It is easy to crack your screen if you aren't careful.

While in School

Where?

1- Please fill out this form (In spanish here) to initiate Tech Support.

2- Notify your Guidance Counselor that you are having issue with your Chromebook.

3- Check your school email for a notification of the next steps. (either more troubleshooting tips, or a scheduled time to drop your device of and pick up a loaner.

When? Once your request has been processed, You will receive a response in your email explaining how to proceed.

RBR BucIT students serve as Tech Support specialists. Many of the tech requests can be handled immediately, some are fixed in our tech department, and others will need to be sent out for repair. If a student device is in need of repair, a student will be given a loaner Chromebook until their device returns.


While Remote Learning

Try all the troubleshooting listed below. AFTER you have tried all of those options, and still have a problem, Follow this procedure:

1- Notify us that your Chromebook has a problem by filling out this form (In Spanish here)

2- Notify your Guidance Counselor that you are having Chromebook issues.

3- Check your school email for a notification of the next steps. (Either more troubleshooting tips or a scheduled time to drop yours off and pick up loaner.

Devices needing repair and loaners will be picked up/dropped off in the foyer of school, if we are closed, or outside the door of Room 140 (Temporary Media Center for Fall 2020 school year), if school is open.

Common Chromebook Problems

Many common problems are resolved by just logging out of your account and powering off and back on.

Try this first before completing our tech support form

My Chromebook won't turn on



  1. Connect to a charger and plug it in

  2. Press power button

  3. If nothing happens, CONTINUE to charge for 1 hour

  4. Press power button again

  5. If there is no activity, lower the lid almost all the way down and then raise the lid.

  6. If nothing happens, complete google form (in Spanish here) and once confirmed, bring your device to temporary media center (Room 140) if we're in school.

My Chromebook only works when IT's Plugged in

  1. Connect to a charger and plug it in

  2. If it is not on, press power button

  3. When CB is powered on, note battery percentage (bottom right corner)

  4. Keep CB on charger for at least 1 hour

  5. Note if the percentage has increased.

  6. If nothing happens, complete the google form (in Spanish here) and once confirmed, bring your device to temporary media center (Room 140) if we're in school.

Google Meet keeps kicking me off




  1. Close other tabs you have open

  2. Shut your device down and restart

  3. If it keeps happening, try

  4. Google is aware of this issue

My camera doesn't work

  1. Is something covering it?

  2. If not, try shutting down your device and restarting

  3. Join the meet again and ALLOW the camera and microphone
