I grew up in a suburb of Chicago; I knew I wanted to teach in the city after I saw the movie FAME. :-P
I taught 7th grade English Lit in an incredibly diverse CPS school on the north side and learned a lot about classroom management & motivating students to read & write.
I moved to Kenosha with my three children when my youngest was a baby. We moved to Wisconsin because it offered the best teaching resources for our oldest son who has autism. Raising two kids with ADHD and one with autism has forever molded & shaped who I am today. I tend to look at each person as a unique version of neurology and I think about what environment works best for the individual.
I have taught K-12 Library in urban, suburban, public, private, and charter schools.
I love technology and books more than just about anything.
I believe librarians are here to figure out what staff & students need and select resources and teach strategies about how to effectively use them.
I have been teaching at Indian Trail High School and Academy for eight years now. It is a fast paced, friendly, exciting environment with teachers and students who are passionate about learning.
I am new to Washington Middle. I am excited to be part of this caring and dynamic school staff and help students connect with books they love!
