Elementary Guided Reading Curriculum

Community Feedback

The Kenosha Unified School District has established a seven year curriculum review cycle. An English Language Arts Committee was formed to begin the work of examining Guided Reading materials. Guided Reading is a small group model teachers use to provide differentiated instruction to students that targets phonics, reading, and comprehension skills. The Committee seeks feedback from the KUSD Community regarding the instructional materials that have been selected as finalists through our review process. A final recommendation for adoption of new materials will be brought to the Board of Education in early 2022.

Please use the links below to learn more about the finalist programs and share your feedback. The two finalists are Literacy Footprints and Fountas and Pinnell. The feedback survey will close on February 4, 2022.

Individuals with questions regarding the finalists or the Curriculum Review process may contact Susan Mirsky, KUSD Coordinator of English Language Arts at smirsky@kusd.edu or (262)-359-6302
