Class overview
Welcome to your senior year in American Federal Government! Government! While it is an introductory course, it will be challenging. Because the American political system is a democracy, it requires its citizens to be informed and knowledgeable about issues concerning its government. To produce the best outcomes, areas must be examined, including the historical and political foundations of the United States as a nation and the meaning of our basic constitutional rights. Examination within the context of the political parties, the media, and the branches of government are discussed. Some of the major questions this course addresses are: What is government? What do citizens need to know? Who is responsible for the actions of the United States government? What is Federalism? What is the role of Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court? In addition to this content, we will also seek to improve writing, speaking, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
