Bio- Head Band Director
Married to my beautiful wife Luceita Solomon.I have five wonderful children and 7 grandchildren. We are from New Orleans ,La. We currently reside in Kennedale ,Tx. I have been teaching band for 37+ years on various levels. Music is Fundamental to all subjects.

Beginning/Intermediate/Varsity Band Curriculum
9/8/2020
1. Teach basic music theory to all students relative to their instrument.
TEKS: 1.B, 1.C, 3.A, 3.B, 3.C, 4.A, 4.B
2. Introduce the instrument.
Learn how to produce characteristic tones on their respective instrument. Target notes
for all instruments are B‐flat Concert up to F Concert.
Learn to read basic music notation in simple time and key signatures.
TEKS: 1.A, 1.B, 1.C, 2.A, 3.A, 3.B, 3.C, 4.A, 4.B
3. Prepare music for the Winter Concert.
Continue to improve tones on their instrument.
TEKS: 1.A, 1.B, 1.C, 2.A, 2.B, 2.C, 3.A, 3.B, 3.C, 6.A, 6.B, 6.C
4. Extend ranges for all instruments past the notes learned in the first semester.
Learn to read music in different key signatures.
Learn to read music in different time signatures.
Learn to read more complex music notation.

5. Prepare music for the Spring Concert.
Prepare for auditions for band placement for the next year.
Continue to improve tones and technical finesse on their instrument.
