New Tech Applied Learning Preparatory Academy
Students enrolled in the Applied Learning Preparatory Academy at Western Hills High School continue their intellectual pursuits following the same methods used in middle school at Fort Worth’s Applied Learning Academy. The Applied Learning Preparatory Academy is designed to give students more choices on how they learn and how they express their understanding of the curriculum.
Students explore core content using real-world scenarios and a project-based learning model.
Teachers and students share in the responsibility of learning, defining problems, and developing solutions.
At various points along the way, teachers work with the students to develop a community of learners who then contribute to society and their neighborhood.
Computer Support and Services
Students in Western Hill's Computer Support and Services learn computer maintenance and technical support as they:
Practice circuitry and electronics skills in simulated environments
Complete the life cycle of work orders, including client relations
Configure and update systems and networks
Apply to join the TechSqu@d team during the senior year
