About me
I have been a teacher in FWISD for 23 years. All of my years have been dedicated to applied learning teachings. I enjoy building classroom communities. While doing so, creating a room of risk-takers and trust.
Week of 10/12 - A shorter week! Much goings on! The big word is assessments this week! Tuesday, the children will take 3 short assessments (one long) for me. This is unrelated to the MAP test they will take on Thursday. My biggest advice, leave the room while your child takes the test. I learned a long time never to look at what children are putting down in tests while they taking it. You will pull your hair out! These tests are for me to better plan the next few weeks. In reading we will continue focusing on responding to books using our sticky-notes. They use these sticky-notes to plan what they plan to share after they have read a story. But, phonics is not far behind. Blends! Diagraphs! Blends! In writing, we begin to break our stories into smaller pieces and attempt to bring “out” the “in” of our characters. Math will entail continual experiences with subtraction and addition. Science will get us outside as we study soil and social studies will continue with U.S. symbols. Whew!
