Mission Statement

The school counseling program at Riverside Applied Learning Center is to provide a comprehensive program that addresses the academic, career, personal and social development of all students.

Having a growth mindset, I reviewed specific data regarding my students and our campus to guide my work as a Professional School Counselor. Riverside Applied Learning Center's counseling program goals for the 2020-2021 school year include:

  1. Academic Achievement

To enhance student achievement , I will provide individual and or small group counseling, classroom guidance, prevention education and student-centered interventions that use both campus and district data, contribute to campus and district goals and focus on the development of knowledge and skills necessary to become successful and productive pillars of society.

  1. Personal and Social Development

To promote personal and social development of ALL students, I will provide individual and or small group counseling, classroom guidance, prevention education and student-centered interventions that help students thrive in a safe, inclusive learning environment, promote developmental interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with peers, adults and the community around them as well as recognize their individual strengths and challenges.

  1. College and Career Readiness

To provide a foundation for students to understand their interests, abilities and challenges; I will provide individual and or small group counseling, classroom guidance, prevention education and student-centered interventions that develop their personal learning plan and career pathway, help find connections with their academic strengths and post secondary education and training as well as develop productive work habits in the classroom that apply to the workforce.
