About Mr. Lanier:

The 2022-23 school year marks my 15th year teaching at South Hills High School. Throughout my time at SHHS, I have taught Geography, AP United States History, AP Human Geography and Ethnic Studies. I'm also currently teaching Personal Financial Literacy (PFL). I really enjoy getting creative in my teaching, trying new things and, more than anything, proving to my students that whatever I share with them will actually matter to their lives.

I have been married to my beautiful wife for 9 years with whom I have a 7-year old son and a 20-month old daughter.

I am really looking forward to getting to know each of you as, together, we begin to unwrap the immesurable treasure of self-discovery. This is, of course, the first step towards empathy!

"Know thyself." --Socrates

Here's to a great year! --Mr. Lanier
