About me

Adriana Medina is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. She is a violinist who was part of the TCU Full Orchestra under the direction of German Gutierrez for four years. After graduating, she has since become the head director for four orchestra programs and has taught private string lessons and master classes for two years before that. This is currently her 2nd year at both North Side High School and Kirkpatrick Middle School.

Ms. Medina has taken 4 groups to UIL, 3 of which received an “Excellent” rating on stage at UIL evaluation and a Superior Sweepstakes rating her first year at North Side (2019). Before Fort Worth, she had the privilege of student teaching at Martin High School, Ousley Junior High School and Ashworth Elementary in the Fall of 2018. She gained tremendous experience with how to set up both beginner and upper level students for success on all musical aspects, as well as how to effectively prepare for Fall concert, cluster concert, and contest (TMEA).

While at TCU, Ms. Medina was involved with multiple performing ensembles where she played all string instruments to better her musical skills. She was also was a part of the University Singers and Vocal Jazz Ensemble where she soloed numerous times and worked with both TCU jazz bands. She took private violin lessons under the direction of Elisabeth Adkins and has studied all other string instruments under the direction of Amanda Musser.

When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, writing music, singing and taking care of her dog, Coco.
