Hello Steers! My name is Ms. Martinez and I am the Associate Mariachi Director at North Side High School. This will be my 16th year working as a teacher. I graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor's in Music Education.

I am a violinist who loves to sing! I enjoy ALL types of music but hold Mariachi dear to my heart!

On my free time, I enjoy watching movies, reading and traveling. I look forward to meeting and working with you to learn about this beautiful art form. My goal is to help guide you and help you explore your musical talents! 

Hello Steers! My name is Mr. Niño and I am the Head Mariachi Director at North Side High School. This will be my twenty-second year working at North Side High School. I graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville with a Bachelor's in Music.

I am a trombonist by trade, but enjoy trying to play different instruments in my spare time! I enjoy listening to ALL types of music!

In my time away from the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my son and daughter, Ditty and Olivia.  You may often see them around the mariachi room, as they really enjoy visiting and listening to the mariachi ensembles practicing and playing music.  I look forward to working with all of you and growing our admiration for the art form that is known as mariachi. 

My name is John Olmos and I am an Associate Mariachi Director here at North Side HS.  This will be my 8th year teaching Mariachi in FWISD and my 1st year here at North Side.

Born and raised here in the North Side area, I attended both J.P. Elder & North Side HS.  Being an educator in a program that I was initially a part of as a student, is a dream come true.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor’s in Music.

When I’m not instructing Mariachi, I am a professional musician and currently play the bass for The Latin Express and sub for different Mariachi’s & Trio’s throughout the DFW area.

Although music takes up most of my life, I also enjoy spending time with my wife and our spoiled 8.5 year old chihuahua Lola.

I look forward to a successful school year.
