Navor Ledesma

Navor Ledesma was born and raised in Donna, Texas located in the Rio Grande Valley along the US/Mexican border. He graduated from Donna High School in 1974 and went back to work as a custodian for one year. He attended Howard Payne University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Practical Theology in 1981. He moved to Fort Worth in 1982 to work on a Master’s Degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in 1987.

Mr. Ledesma started working for the district in 1989 as a long term substitute while he worked to obtain his bilingual certification through the FWISD ACP program. He obtained his certification in 1993 and worked as a bilingual teacher at Rufino Mendoza Elementary until 2001. In October of 2001 he started working a New Teacher Specialist for the TMATE program and also had the opportunity to work as recruiter for the school district. He came back to the classroom in 2011 to work as a teacher at Rosemont Park Elementary.

Currently he holds the position of a 6th grade Pre AP Social Studies and 7th grade Texas History teacher at World Languages Institute and has enjoyed the new challenge of teaching 6th grade students. He looks forward to learning something new every day.

Mr. Ledesma enjoys cooking for his family and friends, going for walks in the park, taking his grandkids to Barnes & Noble bookstore, making his kids laugh, and listening to Christian music. He has been married for 32 years and has a daughter and a son and three grandchildren. He describes his experience with the district as a great ride, noting that "the ride is not over yet."
