About Me

My name is Maria Mendoza and I teach 5th grade. I have been in the district for ten years. I attribute my passion for education to my mother, who worked for the district as a special education assistant for over twenty years. I continue her legacy of “every child can learn” by providing the best education possible to my students.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Incarnate Word. I also hold a Master’s in Education in School Counseling from Tarleton State University. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and love to spoil my nieces and nephews. I also enjoy teaching my little Shih Tzu,Turby, new tricks. I have been a runner my whole life and love to run the Trinity Trails. I love traveling to Miami, Florida where I’m the happiest when I’m at the beach.

Mi nombre es María Mendoza y soy profesora de quinto grado. Llevo diez años en el distrito. Atribuyo mi pasión por la educación a mi madre, quien trabajó para el distrito como asistente de educación especial durante más de veinte años. Continúo su legado de “todos los niños pueden aprender” al brindar la mejor educación posible a mis estudiantes.

Me gradué con una licenciatura en psicología de la Universidad Incarnate Word. También tengo una Maestría en Educación en Consejería Escolar de la Universidad Estatal de Tarleton. En mi tiempo libre, me encanta pasar tiempo con mi familia y me encanta consentir a mis sobrinas y sobrinos. También disfruto enseñando a mi pequeño Shih Tzu, Turby, nuevos trucos. He sido corredor toda mi vida y me encanta correr en los Trinity Trails. Me encanta viajar a Miami, Florida, donde soy más feliz cuando estoy en la playa.
