Class overview
Hello Parent/Guardian!
It is with extreme pleasure that I welcome you and your child to this school year. My hopes are that your child will leave my class better prepared for high school and life. Our goal this year is to promote college readiness and awareness. My class philosophy is simple: “Hard work and effort are always ingredients for success.” I plan to work hard to teach your child the necessary tools for success in 8th grade English and Reading and I look forward to helping your child succeed. Please review the following syllabus and parent/student information sheet with your child, which you will find under the HOME tab titled 8th grade syllabus. Also, all announcements and videos to keep you informed can be found under the NEWSLETTER tab. If you have any questions about the syllabus, please be sure an email me regarding your concerns. Again, I welcome you and hope that we have a dynamic school year!

The new online schedule will start tomorrow Monday, October 5th, 2020. Please view the SCHEDULE tab at top to access the schedule for students. My new google classroom codes for each of my class periods are listed below. Please have your student join the class before Monday October 5th if possible. Have your student check Focus to view their schedule in order to know what time they should attend each class. Thanks for your flexibility and support as we continue to better serve students. About me
Hello students!
It is an honor to be your 8th grade ELA & Reading teacher this 2020-2021 school year.
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX where I attended South Hills High School. I went on to obtain a Bachelor's of Arts in Communication from the University of North Texas and I recently obtained a Master's of Science in Leadership. As you can see, I am an avid learner and I have a passion for education!
During my down time, I enjoy spending time with my 12 year old son, Micah, who is my tangible joy. I also love, love, love shopping, traveling, spending time with my family, rapping (lol) and of course reading!
This will be a new and unique year of learning and challenges but I am excited to be on this journey with you. TOGETHER we will surpass all expectations.
