A little about me personally: I am a mom of a UT Longhorn Sophomore! I grew up in Europe, but I was born in the USA. My dad worked for the Computer Services Corp for the Army. I love to gourmet cook, and I am an avid reader of mysteries. I mostly read first-person female detective fiction, but I will read pretty much anything I find interesting. I am a huge fan of Harry Potter and other magical fantasy. My favorite movies are action, mystery, espionage and sci-fi.
Education & Experience: I attended college at UTA and received a Bachelors of Arts in English. I also studied Linguistic Science and Foreign Languages, specifically German and Spanish. I received my Masters in Education specializing in Curriculum Instruction. I received my Dyslexia Specialist Certification through the Neuhaus Education Center. I have worked for the FWISD for thirteen years now. Before coming to middle-school last year, I taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades. I love teaching middle-school and I am so glad I was finally able to make the transition. I think the young people at the middle school level are so fascinating and full of interesting ideas about life and the world in general. I truly learn from them every day.
A Final Note: I am a total language and word nerd! I absolutely love getting immersed in a crossword or a good book or a conversation about the origins of a word.
