Greetings! Welcome to my humble home on the internet. On this page you will find various activities, assignments, websites and things that we will be doing in class during this year. One of the things we are going to be studying over the course of the year is culture. We will study how our culture shapes who we are as a people and how we continually shape culture by the things we do and believe in. I'm blessed to teach such amazing scholars that are going to be the future leaders of tomorrow.

About Me:
My name is Gabriel but you will call me Mr.Valdez. I speak several languages and have lived in several countries. I'm a Latin/x/Mexican-American but above all I'm a human and I believe in equality/equity for all. My familial background is diverse and I have cousins from many different ethnicities and I love it. Holidays at the house were always so interesting and it really helped me to learn a lot of languages.
I grew up in Southern California: San Diego, Santa Ana, Oxnard areas to be more exact. We moved around a lot. I was 18 when I was offered the opportunity to travel to Europe for a work trip. It was my first time out of the United States by myself. I went to 11 different countries that time and I was hooked. I simply love to travel.
I have lived in South Korea, Guatemala, Mexico, and Jordan. I have been to 40 plus countries and we will study many countries/cultures over the course of the year. Most importantly, we will be working with students from around the world to make something better for all of us. I'm a huge fan of projects and you will be doing a lot of individual/group projects during the year. I'm big into using technology and we will be making a lot of stuff this year.
Outdoors - I love being in the outdoors. Hiking, camping, swimming, fishing, surfing, you name it. One of my favorite things to do when I travel is to jump in famous bodies of water or hike the highest mountain.
Video Games- I love playing video games and have a few consoles: Xbox, PS4, NES, SEGA and I'm undecided on my next console. I do play online but you have to earn my tag with hard work and improvement. I do play Rockstar, EA, Ubisoft, Supercell, 2K, Activision and other games.
I love to read and can get lost in a book for hours at a time. Some of my favorite books are Hatchet, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, the I Survived Series and anything by Judy Blume or Roald Dahl. I like a mixture of history, drama, suspense, and comedy books. I'm currently reading a book about life in North Korea.
I love social media and use sites and apps like YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Netflix and more. Yes, I am a Youtuber. Do I get money out of it? Hmm, what do you think? I won't ever show you a cringy Tiktok video or anything of the sorts.. mostly I focus on travel and social studies. I tried Twitch but I was so embarrassed when we had a huge Fortnite competition! Lol
