Class overview
Sixth-grade language art focuses on all areas of literacy. That means we don’t just read. We read, write, speak, listen, visually represent, and view. This year, you’ll read nonfiction, fiction, poetry, short-stories, dramas, novels, and myths. You’ll also compose your own writings. You’ll improve your grammar and add words to your vocabulary. You will work collaboratively with your classmates and hold class discussions and debates. I am here to guide, challenge, and support you. Ask questions. Develop intellectual curiosity. Read books. It will be a great year!
About me
I received my degree in Education from Northern Illinois University in 2013 and moved to Texas in 2016 with my husband and our two children.
This will be my 5th year teaching in Fort Worth ISD. I taught Social Studies and ELAR at Glencrest 6th grade campus before moving to McLean 6.
I love reading historical fiction and non-fiction history based books, baking, running, and spending time with my family.
