Mrs. Wood

I caught the Theatre bug in 6th grade, which is probably why I love teaching Middle School Theatre so much. One of my greatest joys is to see the spark of recognition in a student's eyes when they realize they really do have talent.

I continued in Theatre in High School and majored in Drama at California State University, Stanislaus. My Master's Degree is in Dramatic Communications at Regent University, which means I am officially a Drama Queen!

I started my teaching career in California, and have taught in Hawaii and Texas as well. I've taught every grade from 3rd grade to University.

This will be my fourth year at ALA, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to teach. The students are dedicated, creative, and hard working. They have won awards every year in Improvisation and the UIL One Act Play Competition.

Theatre is a collaborative art form, and my students learn to work together to see their vision accomplished. I believe there is a place for everyone in Theatre. Some students love to perform; some students love to design; some students love to build and create; some students love to be on a crew; and some students love to lead. My aim is to discover the giftings of every student, and encourage them in that pursuit.

Together, we make the MAGIC happen! I can't wait to see what my students will do THIS year!
