MEET THE TEACHER

My name is Stephanie McCloskey. I teach Yearbook and AVID at Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School. I am also the head volleyball and softball coach at DH-J. This is my fourth year teaching and second year teaching at Diamond Hill-Jarvis. I grew up on the north side of Houston. I attended Texas Lutheran University, where I played college basketball and then transferred to Texas State University. I received a Bachelors in Exercise Sports Science and a Minor in Biology. I have been married to my husband (Matias) for a little over a year, but have been together for over 13 years. I love all sports both playing and watching them, and I will warn you now I am a very competitive person. I am looking forward to this school year and can not wait for whats ahead.

My first priority as your child's AVID and yearbook teacher this school year is to help them successfully manage being digital learners. We will build our confidence in using the technology tools in their virtual classrooms, learn how to manage our time and stay organized, make time for self care and reflection, and have a space to share our struggles and learn how to problem solve to find solutions. My favorite part of teaching is spending time getting to know and support your children and I am so thankful for my time with them.
