Julie Fisher💻
I am in my 24th year of teaching and my tenth year at South Hills High School. I have taught technology for eight years and business/technology courses for 15 years. I have a B.S. in Business Education and a M.A. in Religious Education. My philosophy of teaching is to engage students in becoming life long learners so they can have successful futures.
I teach BIM (Business Information Management), Entrepreneurship 1, and Accounting 1. In BIM, students will develop skills using Microsoft and Google products, in addition to being more efficient on the computer. In Entrepreneurship, students use creativity and engineering skills to solve problems, create products or services, and learn to "pitch" those ideas to an audience. In Accounting 1, students will be introduced to the fundamental principles and practices of accounting. Students will learn the process of recording, classifying, summarizing, and reporting financial information for businesses. It will provide a foundation for understanding how businesses operate financially and make decisions based on financial data.Â
I also am also the Adviser of Future Business Leaders of America at South Hills High School. FBLA helps high school students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. The South Hills HS Chapter of FBLA has been quite successful through the years and students have been able to compete at the state and national levels. We have students who have travelled to California, Maryland, Orlando, Washington D.C., and cities throughout Texas. We hope to have a lot of new members this year as well as our experienced ones back! We'll have fun and learn a lot!
