french I, II and III

In these courses, students develop their ability to communicate, using a wider variety of language structures, expanding their vocabulary in a variety of lexical areas. This communication is demonstrated in all four language skills—listening, speaking, reading and writing—with emphasis on the ability to communicate orally and in writing. Students continue to gain insights into the diversity of Francophone cultures, from Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and North America. Students begin to explore and study the themes of family life, emotions, food, travel, opinions, health, entertainment, and courtesy.

AP french

In the AP course, students prepare for the AP exam by developing their ability to communicate, using complex language structures, in the ways in which they will be tested on the AP exam (multiple choice questions, prepared spoken dialogue, oral presentation, written essay, email response). Students continue to develop vocabulary in a variety of lexical areas, while developing skills in all four modes of communication—listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students continue to gain insights into the variety of French speaking cultures.
