Gateway to Technology 2 (GTT2) - 7th Grade

The Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum is designed to provide a challenging and inspiring engineering curriculum to middle school students. Students in this program will get rigorous and relevant experiences through activity, project, and problem based learning. They will use technology to collaboratively and creatively solve problems while gaining skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. This program provides a strong foundation for further Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning in high school and beyond. These classes teach students learn how to apply math, science, technology, and engineering to their everyday lives.

In all PLTW units, students will practice problem solving with structured activities and progress to open-ended projects and problems that require them to develop planning, documentation, communication, and other professional skills.

Most assignments will involve group work and all students will be expected to work well with any and all students in their group.

During 7th grade students will learn more about careers they may be interested in, electricity and how it works, and apply the concepts of physics, chemistry, and nanotechnology to activities and projects.
