  • Our first project will be crocheting a beanie! I started working on this yesterday (12/7) and while I had to re-watch the steps a couple of times, I found it pretty easy to pickup!

Video Instructions: https://www.hookedonhomemadehappiness.com/how-to-crochet-a-basic-beanie-for-beginners/

Supplies needed: Yarn, a crochet hook (I'm using a H/8 or 5.00MM), and a yarn needle

I will try to post updates as I make progress and if you have any questions, feel free to email me at frances.truss@fwisd.org :)

Update! I made two! The gray on the left was the first one and the black on the right (i folded up the bottom) as the 2nd one. I think you may have to tweak her pattern a little because this seems like it's for someone with a really big head! I did 65 for the band on the bottom instead of the 78 she did and on the next one I make, I will probably stop at 10 instead of 12 rows. Just keep trying! This link helped me learn how to do the "slip stich" she references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFk-fdAowbY
