Battle of the Books

Fort Worth ISD Battle of the Books is a competition that inspires students to love reading. Participants develop and foster relationships through collaboration and teamwork.

In the annual District level competition, teams of five students per grade level compete with grade level teams from other campuses.

Each team has read the same list of award-winning books with a variety of genres.

Students prepare during the school year by creating questions as they read the books and quiz their fellow teammates.

This competition is very much student-led as students read and prepare outside of the classroom.

MMS Battle of the Books meetings will be held in the library at 8:45 on the following dates. Changes and additional meetings may be made to this schedule due to the wants/needs of the participating students.
