Adam Kramer

Wedgwood Middle School

My name is Mr. Kramer, and I am the assistant band director at Wedgwood Middle School where I direct the Symphonic Band, co-teach the Concert Band and teach all brass students. I also teach the trombone class at Wedgwood 6th Grade campus and direct the jazz ensemble at Southwest High School. This will be his 12th year teaching at Wedgwood. Before that I was a band director in Brownsville, TX. I earned my Bachelor of Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University. I am originally from the great state of Connecticut. Christa Martien

Southwest High School

My name is Mrs. Martien. I have been teaching at Southwest High School, Wedgwood Middle School and Wedgwood 6th Grade for 3 years, and I am super excited to start my 4th! This was my first teaching job after I graduated from Texas Tech, so it is also my 4th year teaching. My primary instrument is the oboe, but I also have assisted with the flute and bassoon classes at WW6, and I teach all the woodwind sections at Southwest and assist with woodwinds at Wedgwood Middle School! Kristina Calva

Wedgwood 6th Grade

My name is Mrs. Calva. I am the Head Band Director at Wedgwood 6th Grade. I have been teaching band for 22 years. I began my teaching career in Lamesa, TX where I was the head director at Lamesa Middle School and assistant band director at Lamesa High School for 2 years. I am entering my 20th year as the Head Band Director at Wedgwood 6th Grade. I received my Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. My primary instrument is the clarinet.

Southwest High School

My name is Mr. DeMaagd. I am the head director Southwest High School and assist with brass students at Wedgwood Middle School. I also teach the trumpet class at the Wedgwood 6th Grade. I am originally from Grand Rapids, MI. I earned a degree in Music Education for Michigan State University (2007), GO SPARTANS. My primary instrument is the Trumpet. Alexis Randolph

Percussion Class

Bio aMy name is Ms. Randolph. This is my first year teaching at Southwest High School and Wedgwood 6th Grade, however, I am an alumna of Southwest where I graduated in 2012. Prior to that, I attended Wedgwood Middle School for 7th and 8th grade. Before arriving to teach in FWISD, I was a percussion lesson teacher and paraprofessional at South Grand Prairie High School and its middle school feeders from 2013-2019. I have also held other percussion roles in schools across and outside of the DFW metroplex. I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington where I received my Bachelor of music with a focus in Media in 2016 and a Master's in Music Education also from UT Arlington. My primary instrument is percussion and I will be working with the percussion sections at Southwest High School, Wedgwood Middle School, and Wedgwood 6th Grade.

Ryan Langer

French Horn, Euphonium and Tuba Class

My name is Mr. Langer, and my primary instrument is Tuba. I am very excited to start my first year teaching at Southwest High School and Wedgwood 6th Grade. This will be my 2nd year teaching. Prior to Southwest I was teaching private lessons to low brass students throughout the DFW area including Richardson, Dallas, and Frisco ISD’s. I have a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Texas Tech University.
