About Me

My name is Danna Jenkins. I teach Pre-AP and Accelerated Math at McLean 6th Grade Center in Fort Worth, Texas. This will be my 30th year teaching middle school math. I started my career in Midland,Texas at San Jacinto Jr. High. After moving to Fort Worth in 2000, I taught at Trinity Valley School for several years and within Mansfield ISD. In 2012, I had the pleasure of joining the McLean 6th Grade Center BlueJay family.

In 1991, I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, specializing in Math and Reading, from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. In 2008, I completed my Master’s degree in Middle Level Education from Walden University. This was an invaluable opportunity to learn more about educating adolescents and specialize in meeting their developmental needs.

I am blessed with two daughters, Allie and Abby. Allie (21) is a senior at the University of Texas in Austin, majoring in Neuroscience. Abby (18) is a senior at Paschal High School and plans to major in Business/Finance. They are amazing and I am very proud of the young ladies they have become.

Besides teaching middle school math, I enjoy gardening, fishing, going to the movies and spending time with my daughters.
