Course Description:
The Fort Worth ISD supports health for all students. Lifetime benefits are derived from knowledge of the importance of nutrition, hygiene, and healthy choices made at a personal and interpersonal level. In this Health course students will be provided with tools and practice skills to achieve lifetime wellness.

Policies:
Cell phones should remain in pockets or backpacks during class time. Water and healthy snacks are allowed to be consumed during class.
Course Content:
CPR - 2 lessons
Emotional and Mental Health - 14 lessons
Violence and Injury Prevention - 9 lessons
Tobacco, Alcohol, and other Drug Prevention - 13 lessons
Personal Health - 6 lessons
Nutrition and the Human Body - 7 lessons
Human Sexuality - 10 lessons
*Will need permission from parents in order to be in class during sexual education.
Grading Procedures:
The only grading category will be Assignments. They will count for 100% of the class grade. If a student is absent it is their responsibility to make up the missed assignment. All assignments will be available in Canvas, and they will be due by the end of the period in which they were assigned. After that it will be considered late. If a student is absent for an assignment they will have 48 hours from the end of the class period to submit the assignment in order to receive full credit. After that they can still submit the assignment, but it will be considered late.
