Program

Resources for Families:

HTYPE PROGRAM ACTIVITIES

The HTSSP addresses the safety and well-being of students, educators, and staff reporting trafficking. It defines the proper role of school staff in responding to potential and confirmed cases of trafficking in a student-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.

Human Trafficking Prevention Education for Educators and Staff

The PROTECT HT101-103 modules equip over 11,000 Fort Worth ISD employees to identify and respond to students who are experiencing trafficking or at high risk, to report concerns in accordance with State law, and to respond appropriately to student requests for help.

PROTECT educates students about key risk factors and protective factors against deception by exploiters. It is designed to build resilience and encourages students to adopt protective behaviors.

Qualified Trainers to Replicate Program Activities District-Wide

Student Support Services professionals (school counselors, intervention specialists, and case managers) are trained to deliver PROTECT prevention education program.

Human Trafficking Prevention Campaign

The purpose of the Don't Get Tricked: Human Trafficking Starts Online community campaign educated and enlightened the Fort Worth community regarding deceptive tactics routinely employed by traffickers to groom and exploit youth. The campaign won local and national awards for impact.

United Voices for Change (UV4C) and Youth Voices for Change (YV4C) are student-leadership organizations that are engaged in peer-to-peer trafficking prevention efforts.

Lighthouse enables Fort Worth ISD staff to identify potential victims of human trafficking using a screening tool that has been adopted statewide. The data in Lighthouse helps staff to better understand the risk factors for trafficking.
