A Year At A Glance

Our Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) class will use the Unique Learning Systems (ULS) Curriculum and the PreK Creative Curriculum for the class instruction. ULS has an amazing website that is interactive and can be used by each student. ULS is divided into monthly themes. Please see below:

September: Meet My Friends and Family (Government) Introduces different groups that people can belong.

October: The Changing Tree (Life Science) Explores the four seasons and the changes in weather during each.

November: The Sun, the Moon and Space (Earth and Space Science) Explores different objects (such as the Sun, clouds, Moon and stars) that can be seen in the sky.

December: It's a Tradition (History) Explores traditions and celebrations of various cultures in the U.S.

January: Make-Believe - The Little Red Hen (Approaches to Learning) Explores what good manners are, the importance of helping others and feelings.

February: Dental Health (Health) Explores ways to keep teeth healthy and clean.

March: Lights and Sounds: They Are All Around (Physical Science) Explores objects that produce light and sound.

April: Community Helpers (Economics) Introduces different community helpers, their jobs and how they help people in a community.

May: Down on the Farm (Life Science) Explores living and nonliving things that are found on a farm.

June/July: Theme to be released at a later time.
